As part of an Aviation celebration Yves “Jetman” Rossy took to the skies with fellow “Breitling Flyer” pilot, Nigel Lamb in the renowned Spitfire MH434.
In this unique close-formation flight, the British iconic aircraft offered a stark contrast to the futuristic Jetwing, the cutting edge of Swiss innovation.
The Mk IXB Spitfire, operated by ‘Old Flying Machine Company’ and normally based in Duxford, (UK) was invited to display at the airfield’s annual ‘fly-in’ where the aircraft has been a favorite participant since its first appearance in 1976.
Jetman will be present as special guest speaker at the IMT booth (Hall 1, Stand D40) at the IBC 2012 convention in Amsterdam on Monday, September 10th. Yves Rossy will discuss his use of IMT’s microLite wireless video transmission system to allow spectators to ride along during his displays during 2 talks at 12:00 and 15:00. Be sure to visit us!
Reminiscent of the famous superman scene, Yves “Jetman” Rossy has flown in close formation with the Breitling Douglas DC-3 vintage aircraft, giving the passengers onboard the unique experience to see the world’s first jet powered man in full flight.
A video can’t really convey the feelings the passengers could have only a few meters away – but the performance isn’t any less impressive!
